Here are a few of the things that have sold in the last week at AZ Discount Haus.
I wanted to share these first two items because it gives and idea of what you can be looking for when you're out there picking and maybe a different way of thinking about how some items can be sold.
This bread machine loaf pan came from a bread machine that I got at a Goodwill for $1 and have parted out to sell. There are several parts on these machines that can be sold whether the machine works or not, like this loaf pan. The mixing paddle, drive belt and lid are other parts from bread machines that can be sold. I have found that on average there are about $40 in parts that can be sold. In addition I will salvage the electric motor and other metal to take to the scrap yard for a few extra dollars too. So a $1 bread machine can bring an easy $40 of sellable parts.
This is another example of a bread machine part that recently sold, a drive belt. Again, this was taken off a bread machine that was picked at a Goodwill on $1 day. These belts are found on the bottom of the machine attached to a pulley on the bottom of the electric motor and going to the pulley that turns the mixing paddle. So long as the belt isn't broken it is sellable as a replacement part for someone who loves their bread machine.
Now, this one might seem a little unbelievable but there is a market for used VCR's on Amazon. I have sold 5 of this particular model of the Panasonic VCR shown in the last 2 months. Yes, I got them all for $1 at Goodwill on dollar day. There are many other makes and models that sell very well on Amazon for a minimum of $50 and up. I will test these VCR's at the store to make sure they power on and will accept and eject a tape. If it passes I will make the purchase and bring it home for further testing before listing it. I am not sure why people are buying used VCR's but they do.
I hope sharing these items that have actually sold at AZ Discount Haus helps you to know what to look for while you are out there thrifting, picking and Goodwill hunting.
